“God Dwelling With Us”

Apr 1, 2026    Dr Sam Murray

At the heart of this message lies one of the most transformative truths we can grasp: God doesn't just tolerate our presence—He actively desires to dwell with us. Drawing from John 1:14, we explore the profound reality that the Word became flesh and chose to live among humanity. This wasn't a casual visit or temporary assignment; Jesus dwelt with us, fully experiencing human hunger, weariness, disappointment, and even the frustration of dealing with difficult people. Yet He came anyway, knowing exactly what awaited Him. This sermon challenges us to move beyond spiritual infancy, where we serve God merely because we need salvation, to a mature faith where we serve Him simply because of who He is and what He deserves. We're reminded that God has been pursuing relationship with humanity from the Garden of Eden, walking with Adam and Eve daily, and even after sin separated us, He came searching. The entire biblical narrative reveals God's relentless desire to be with His people—and with each of us individually. He knows our names, sees our struggles, and promises never to leave or forsake us. When we truly grasp that the Creator of the universe wants to spend time with us personally, our prayer life transforms from obligation to privilege, our Bible reading shifts from duty to desperate hunger, and our worship becomes authentic celebration. This isn't just theology; it's the foundation for experiencing God's presence in every moment of our daily lives.
