“Who is JESUS?”
In John chapter 6, we encounter one of the most profound declarations Jesus ever made: 'I am the bread of life.' This message challenges us to examine what we're truly hungry for and where we're seeking satisfaction. The crowd followed Jesus across the Sea of Galilee, but their motivation was shallow—they wanted free food, not spiritual nourishment. How often do we approach God with the same mindset, seeking only what benefits us temporarily while missing the eternal life He offers? Jesus confronts this by explaining that physical bread sustains us for a day, but He offers bread that sustains us forever. The manna that fed the Israelites in the wilderness kept them alive, yet they still died. But Jesus offers something radically different—eternal life that begins the moment we believe in Him. This isn't about religion or rituals; it's about relationship and dependency. Just as we must consume food daily to survive physically, we must consume Christ—taking Him into our hearts, depending on Him as our source of life, allowing Him to dwell in us. The resurrection theme runs throughout this passage, reminding us that everyone will face the last day, but how we experience it depends entirely on what we do with Jesus. This message forces us to answer the most important question: Who is Jesus to us? Is He merely a good teacher, a role model, or a nice historical figure? Or is He the Son of God, our Savior, the one who died in our place and offers us everlasting life? How we answer determines not just how we live, but where we spend eternity.
