“Get Involed”

Apr 26, 2026    Rev Earl Dunn

This powerful message takes us into the heart of spiritual warfare through the triumphant song of Deborah in Judges 5. We discover a remarkable truth: when God goes to battle, all of creation joins in. The earth trembled, the heavens dropped water, the mountains melted, the stars fought from their courses, and the rivers swept away the enemy. Everything in heaven and earth participated in God's victory—except one group. The tribe of Meroz received a devastating curse not for what they did, but for what they failed to do. They refused to help the Lord when He was fighting against the mighty. This sobering reality confronts us today: we are already enlisted in God's army the moment we accept salvation. The question isn't whether we're called—it's whether we'll engage. Will we willingly offer ourselves like those Deborah praised, or will we be remembered for our absence when the battle raged? The message challenges us to move beyond passive Christianity into active participation in God's work, reminding us that our proximity to the fight doesn't excuse our inaction. In fact, it makes our refusal to engage even more condemnable. We're called not just to enlist and engage, but to enjoy the journey—finishing our course with joy even amid tears, trials, and uncertainty.
