Drawing from Psalm 27:14, which calls us to wait on the Lord with courage and trust that He will strengthen our hearts, we uncover what it truly means to be still before God. The Hebrew concept of waiting carries a vivid image of a rope, where individual strands are twisted and bound together to form something far stronger than any single thread. When we wait on God, we are doing exactly that, wrapping ourselves around Him, binding our lives to His, and drawing strength from that closeness. This is not passive or wasted time. It is the very source of the renewal that Isaiah 40:31 promises, where those who wait on the Lord rise up with new strength, soar to higher places, and find themselves no longer exhausted by the weight of daily life. Waiting is the bridge between the carnal world and the spiritual world, and it may be the missing piece in many of our prayer lives.
