“Watch”

What does it mean to truly watch in prayer? Most of us understand praise, confession, and waiting on God, but the concept of watching adds a dimension to our prayer lives that we often overlook. Drawing from Matthew 26:40-41, where Jesus asks His disciples if they could not watch with Him for one hour, we are invited to explore what it means to be spiritually alert and engaged during our time with God. Watching in prayer means praying with our spiritual eyes open, scanning our lives, our hearts, our families, and our churches for where the enemy is working and where God is moving. It is not passive. It is an active, expectant posture that protects our prayer life from being hindered by sin, compromise, distraction, or wrong motives. Just as a watchman on a tower guards a city before the threat arrives, we are called to watch before things become a crisis. This message challenges us to stop sleepwalking through our prayer time and start standing guard, because the stakes in our families, our faith, and our calling are too high to fall asleep now.
