“The Voice”

Aug 2, 2026    Pastor Earl Dunn

What does it mean to be a voice for God in a world that is constantly pulling our attention in every direction? Drawing from John chapter one, we explore the powerful moment when John the Baptist was asked point-blank who he was. He did not claim greatness, fame, or a distinguished lineage. He simply said, 'I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness.' That single declaration carries a profound truth for each of us: we do not have to be extraordinary by the world's standards to be used by God. We are all called to be voices, pointing others away from ourselves and toward Jesus. Whether we feel weak, overlooked, or ordinary, 1 Corinthians 12 reminds us that even the parts of the body that seem feeble are described not merely as useful, but as necessary. Every one of us fills a role that no one else can fill in quite the same way. When we step away from the community of faith, someone is left limping. This message challenges us to take seriously the voice God has placed within us and to use it boldly, knowing that lifting it up for His glory is the very purpose for which we were saved.
