FREEDOM FELLOWSHIP MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH

This powerful message confronts us with a sobering reality: many of our spiritual battles are self-inflicted. Drawing from the lives of David and Samson, we're reminded that these mighty men of God brought devastating consequences upon themselves through their own choices. David's adultery with Bathsheba and subsequent murder of her husband, Samson's repeated violations of his Nazarite vow—these weren't attacks from the enemy, but failures to guard their own hearts. The sermon challenges us to examine how often we blame God or Satan for defeats we've brought on ourselves through our words and actions. Building on 2 Corinthians 2:11, which warns us not to be ignorant of Satan's devices, we learn that the primary battlefield is our mind. The enemy doesn't need much—just a foothold that becomes a stronghold. Yet we're equipped with powerful weapons: the Word of God, the blood of Jesus, the indwelling Holy Spirit, and guardian angels. The key insight is this: Satan cannot read our minds, but he hears our words. When we speak defeat, doubt, and negativity, we give him ammunition. Following Jesus's example in the wilderness, we must counter temptation with Scripture. The message calls us to surrender fully to Christ's lordship, resist the devil actively, and speak God's Word boldly over our circumstances.
